Last year, new apps launched that allowed users to live stream video. Periscope quickly found itself as the number one live streaming app with 10 million users, 2 million daily users and 100 million broadcasts as of the beginning of 2016.
Interestingly, it only took Periscope 5 months to reach the 10 million user mark- whereas it took Instagram (another very popular social media site) one year to do so.
Then, earlier this year, Facebook launched its live stream option- Facebook Live.
Facebook reports that users are 10 times more likely to comment on a live video rather than a regular one.
Besides getting more comments, how can live streaming video help your business?
First- it goes without being said, live streaming video would only be a supplement to your current social media strategy.
However- once you have a solid plan in place, live video can help boost engagement, build awareness, and drive conversation.
So what kinds of things should you be streaming live?
Here are some ideas:
Company events
Announcements
Video Blogs
Panel Chats
You can also use live video to:
Promote other content you have created
Live steam comments and discussion regarding your content
Host a Q&A session

Give product demos
If you haven’t jumped aboard the live stream train- it’s time to give it a try. What ideas do you have for live stream videos?
